Matt's Europe Trip

Matt was able to go on a 'school trip' to Europe this year.  He went in March for a whole week!  It was for his International Business class for Graduate School.  (I was both happy for him and jealous.  He has now been on a cruise to the Bahamas and Europe without me!)  He should really be the one writing this blog.  I'll give an overview of his trip and he can add more later if he wants to.
First, he went to France for 3 days.  They did a tour of the city. The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre were awesome.

Then, he flew to Spain for 3 days.  He toured the city, the President's Palace, the Temple and the Bull Fighting Museum.  I think he also visited a Casino....

In France, he ordered the cheapest meal on the menu...French Onion Soup for $15.  The water was like $8.  He had  lot of fun.  He said that he's learned more in the past 2 semesters than he has in all of this other schooling combined.  He's doing awesome.  He has gotten all As and one B.  I'm so proud of him.

Funny Waverly

Wavy cracks me up!  This morning during school, she hands me her writing to correct and she says, "Prepare to be amazed!"  So funny.

Workbox System

I'm so excited for tomorrow.  We are starting a new system for our homeschooling.  It's an organizational system called the workbox system.  It's new to me.  I will post pictures of our new school room later.  If anyone is interested, this a link that describes the system:

I really think it will help our day run more smoothly.  I'm excited to show pictures of our new school room.  We've worked hard on it.  It's a much cooler room to be in!

Secret Garden

I wasn't a big reader growing up.  That was my brother Jake's department.  He'd read a 1,000,000 page Steven King book in one night.  I could never understand how he could do that.  I started reading when I became a mother.  Anyway, I haven't read a lot of the classics, so I'm trying to read some of them now.  Matt and I listened to the Secret Garden on the way to Wyoming.  I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.  I thought it'd be boring.  It wasn't.  I thought it had a great message of thinking positively and enduring trials.  I also liked how Mary's  beauty was related to the kind of personality she had.
Good read.

The Walk

I finally found time to read a book for pleasure!  Not a homeschool/education/church book.  I didn't really want to read this one at first, but my mom suggested it and I couldn't find anything else.  I'm so glad I read it.  I really enjoyed it.  Easy, fast, uplifting read.

The Walk: A Novel (Walk Series)

How Great Thou Art

I wish she'd sing all of my favorite church hymns.

Roald Dahl

We just finished our 4th Roald Dahl book.  We love his books.  They are a bit crazy and out there, but they are a fun read in between more 'educational' books.  My brother had read The Witches when he was young but I hadn't heard of it until last year.
The Witches
The Magic Finger
The Twits
George's Marvelous Medicine

Now for the next book.....
