Riverton WY Trip 2012

Nana & Poppi's House/South Pass City 2012

We love visiting my parents' house in Riverton, WY.  They are the best hosts ever!  We get spoiled rotten every time we go.  This trip we rode dad's new Razor, toured dad's new hotel, visited 2 local museums, watched lots of movies, played soccer, went to the park, ate good food and visited the historic South Pass City on the way home.  The museums in Riverton aren't the best...sorry Riverton.  The downtown museum was downright scary.  It had stuffed conjoined calves, tons of scary fake babies and mannequins and teeth.  The other museum with the animals was better.  The kids actually liked it a lot.  South Pass City was awesome.  It's about an hour before Riverton.  We got to go into old historic buildings and learned a lot about how different it was back then.  For example, the hallways in the hotels were about 3.5 feet wide.  So narrow compared to today's hallways.
We had such a fun trip.  Cameron and Parker came with us.  It was the first time they'd been there.  Harrison was very loud the whole way, but we survived.  6 kids to 1 adult might not sound smart, but they were awesome.  Love these kids!  Thanks Mom and Dad.

American Heritage Center/Wellsville UT

American Heritage Center/Wellsville UT 2012

We LOVE the American Heritage Center in Wellsville, UT.  We go every year.  The kids ride horses and ponies, mine for gold, through hatchets, learn how to make bullets, play pioneer games, live like a pioneer, ride a train, feed animals, etc...  Harrison was so fun.  He got so excited over everything.  It took him 5 minutes to say 'goodbye' to everything...the train, animals, water.
I saw a snake AGAIN.  Every year I am the lucky one who encounters one.  Of course, I screamed liked a lunatic:)
On the way home from Wellsville we went the back way to Ogden.  We saw signs for Hardware Ranch and thought it sounded fun.  We drove and drove and found it to be closed for the season.  Oh well.  It was a beautiful drive.  We saw a ton of sheep, pheasants, skunk, horses, cows, beaver dams and lots of beautiful back country.

Father/Son Outing 2012

Conrad Father/Son Trip 2012

My dad has started an annual 4-wheeling/camping trip with the boys in the family.  They used to go to the sand dunes, but went into the mountains this year.  It's been reported that is was a ton of fun.  Fishing, swimming, 4-wheeling, 2 bears, missionary stories, scary stories, eating and lots of dirt.  I'm glad Matt and Conrad were able to participate.
